Relocation Appraisals in Southern California
When a job moves you, your home has to move too — usually on a deadline. A relocation appraisal determines what your home is likely to sell for within your move timeline, so your employer or relocation company can make a fair buyout offer. Tanner & Associates has appraised Southern California homes for over 45 years, and we know these local markets well enough to price them right the first time.

What Is a Relocation Appraisal?
A relocation appraisal is ordered when an employee is being transferred and their employer — or a relocation management company — is purchasing the home or helping with its sale. Unlike a standard appraisal, which estimates today's market value, a relocation appraisal forecasts the home's anticipated sales price: what it is expected to sell for within a limited marketing period, typically 120 days. That forecast is what the buyout offer is based on, so accuracy matters to everyone involved.
How it differs from a regular appraisal:
- 01
Forecasts the anticipated sales price, not just today's market value
- 02
Applies forecasting adjustments for where the market is heading
- 03
Completed on the standard Worldwide ERC® relocation appraisal form
- 04
Your relocation company may order two appraisals and reconcile the values
